News from the Blooming Grove ISD Superintendent’s Office – May 1, 2015
Greetings,
This last week I had the awesome experience of spending some time in the elementary school. Many times in our day to day activities we tend to get consumed with living life and forget about the simplicity of a child’s smile. I was asked about getting back into the school business and my simple response was ‘I missed being around kids!’ So I want to thank you as a community for giving me the opportunity to once again do a job I love and spend my days working for the students of Blooming Grove.
Cheerleaders
I want to congratulate the new cheerleaders and the mascot for the 2015-2016 school year. Cheerleaders drive the spirit of the school and are a very important part of the school environment. UIL has sanctioned cheerleading as a sport, so starting with the 2015-2016 school year the school board will be considering the purchase of cheerleading uniforms, as we emphasize the need to equally fund all UIL activities. Great job cheerleaders and mascot!
Athletic Director
I will be recommending to the board to hire Coach Williams (Blooming Grove’s current football coach) to lead our Athletic Program. I look forward to the great things that are going to develop in Blooming Grove ISD Athletic program under the leadership of Coach Williams.
Program Review
In the coming weeks we will be conducting an internal review of all of our federal and state programs. The Education Service Center in Waco will be sending out a group of educational specialists to review and facilitate any changes that need to be implemented to our federal and state programs. The philosophy that is driving this review is the need to make sure that as a school district we are addressing all the needs of our students and that all of our federal and state programs are in compliance.
Board Election
As a reminder that Early Voting is being conducting now through May 5th at the annex in Corsicana and the election day voting will be on May 9th and you can vote at any polling location in Navarro County as long as you have any driver’s license.
I want to thank you once again for allowing me to serve as your Superintendent, if at any time you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Have a great day,
Marshall Harrison
