Tales from the Grove –
This photo was taken circa late 1930’s about a mile south of Blooming Grove in the area of “old town” where these girls grew up. The oldest is Zolita Campbell, top left is Martha Campbell, and the youngest is Bettye Campbell. Carroll Creek begins just west of the baseball complex in Blooming Grove and flows south, although it is dry a good part of the year. One day the two oldest girls here were walking through the heavily wooded Carroll Creek bottom and came across a mountain lion asleep on a fallen tree. I’ll bet you didn’t know the Grove had mountain lions!
